James R. Love | Pastor

Since the last Sunday of March, 2000, James R. Love has been the pastor. He has a BA in Pastoral Theology from Independent Baptist College and an MA in New Testament Backgrounds from Cincinnati Bible Seminary. He has also taken many continuing education classes at Hebrew Union College. He also served was an Assoc. Pastor in a different church for 9 yrs, as well as a principal and teacher in a Christian school.

Pastor Love has been married to Tammy since April 1981 and they have 3 daughters: April, Charissa, and Brittany. All three girls are married to young men that are active in church. They currently have nine beautiful grandchildren.

On top of pastoral duties, Pastor Love serves as the local Police Chaplain and Public Information Officer (PIO). He also works closely with local funeral homes. He also participates in the Leadership Training Institute of America (LTIA.org) in Washington, D.C. every year.

Pastor Love enjoys playing racquetball, riding his motorcycle, occasionally hacking at a golf ball, camping with grandkids, but mostly reading with a good cup of coffee.

James Wm. Love | Church Helps & Minister To Seniors

Dr. James Wm. Love is involved in helping many churches, and is the Minister to the Seniors. He is the father of the pastor. His experience includes starting a church in Norwood, OH, working as an Associate Pastor for 3 years, pastor of 4 churches for a total of 29 years, as well as serving as a missionary in Mexico for over 6 years. After a combined 38 years of ministry, he is still preaching and teaching today.

Bro. Love and Margie fit a great need at SMBC. They have involved themselves in many areas of service, including helping with the elderly, teaching Sunday School, discipling individuals, and overseeing our five nursing home services. He is also a teacher in the church’s Bible Institute as needed.

Bro. Love is often requested to speak in revivals and special occasions. He is available to minister to other churches and will be a tenured help if needed.

Tim Mintkenbaugh | Church Counselor

Tim & Melinda Mintkenbaugh are long time church members of SBC. Tim was ordained into the ministry in 1995 and started working as the Youth Pastor. They later moved into the Young Adult Ministry. Currently Tim has become our Church Counselor and is pursuing a degree in Counseling. He is also the coordinator for our Discipleship program. Tim is a West Chester police officer and brings a great amount of varied experience into ministry because of his job, including Police Chaplain. Tim & Melinda have three sons, and three grandchildren. One son is also a West Chester policeman.
